More updates on the Run Clinics!
Dear Runners and Friends!
Again we had another great training session last weekend. Some new faces joined us and we opened a new training clinic at Subang. Those who joined us for the second week in a row found that they could run further this time around! Su Wen commented that when she prayed for the H1N1 victims as she ran she didn’t feel so tired as her mind focused on the prayer and not on the run. This is what Alex Sim who trained under Keney Martin (former Malaysian runner) had to say:
“I felt blessed to be trained under former national athletes! It is an honor. What I liked most was the pre-running exercises (warm up), strechings (after the runs) as well as the toning of muscles. These helped me in my run. As I was paced by Thana (a friend and former state runner for Ng. Sembilan), I was able to talk for the whole journey. So, I guess, I am fine with praying and running with a consistant pace. I believe if all the participants come for training, then everyone will be able to cover 5km very easily”. Editor’s notes: Not sure about very easily but certainly doable!
For those of you who prefer to train on your own, we hope that you have been putting in the mileage. Distance running training is not something you can cram in the week before the event. Your body needs to be conditioned to the rigours of going the “extra mile”.
Join Us This Saturday! Don’t forget we have training sessions going on this Saturday at 3 places! Here are the details again (please note the times):
