Chairman's Note
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus,
Welcome to 2010 – a year that will surely see more challenges for our nation. The need to pray remains stronger than ever! Let us rise to the challenge and take to the roads of Malaysia once again! RunNat 2010 will continue where we left off in October 2009. We will lift up our voices to God as we run through the arteries of our cities-our roads.
We are going one step further in 2010. The Global Day of Prayer Malaysia (GDOP) 2010 will be working with churches throughout the country to promote “90-Days of Blessings” – Christians getting involved in community service. RunNat runners can help by getting friends and family members to support their run by contributing to selected charitable organizations and activities. More details on that later. Change begins with us. We can make a difference to the communities around us so let’s do our part in nation building!
Speak to those around you and you will find some who are despondent with our nation’s state of affairs and others who see a roadmap to better things. It is our prayer that all of us who know and love the Lord Jesus Christ will learn to embrace the latter. We are reminded of what the Bible tells us – In all things God works for the good of those who love Him who are called according to His purposes (Rom 8:28). God never lies so this statement holds the promise of good things to come. Let us as His children take heart to remember the part that we play in that promise – to love Him and come within His purposes for our lives. On that note we wish you all a year where you discover the purposes of God for your lives and find the strength to live it!

In the Klang Valley we are inching our way up to the 500 mark-484 have signed up so far. Can we hit 600 so that we can cover 1010km of the Klang Valley on 10/10? With your help we can! Just get one friend to sign up and if enough of you do this, 600 would be a synch! Plus our RunNat Promo Team still have a few churches to visit over the next 3 weeks. Closing date for registration is the 20th of September.
Whilst things are moving along well in the Klang Valley, how are the other states doing? After all, although the biggest RunNat is taking place in KV, it is equally important that all states are represented in this event. Every state is important in the nation building process.
We are busy getting feedbacks from every city at the moment. Apart from KV there are 12 others! We promise you an update soon. If the sentiments shared by Ps Yohana of KT is shared by all, there really should be no problem in getting RunNat going throughout the country!

Dear Runners and Friends
We just finished the NECF 40 Days of Fast and Prayer for our nation Malaysia. It ended with a wonderful celebration of praise and worship at FGA on the 30th of August. Drummers for Christ gave an amazing display of “drum” unity when they opened the evening up. This was quickly followed by enthusiastic worship by the FGA Chinese church who truly rocked the house! The congregation representing different churches, with one voice shouted out the Merdeka Proclamation on the 7 Realms of Influence (Family, Media, Education, Religion, Commerce, Entertainment and Government). Ps Philip Mantofa reminded us that winning over Malaysia will take more than just bended knees. We need to put faith into action for we know that faith without action is dead (James 2:17).
One “40-Days” ends and another begins! We are just 40 days away from 10/10! Let’s begin our preparations for the event, if we haven’t already done so. If you want to know how, keep reading our emails, the blogsite and the forum. Over the next 40 days, we will give you the tools you will need to help you be an effective prayer warrior on the road.
We will start off with our theme for the prayer run. It is taken from John 10:10: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life and may have it abundantly”.

Dear Friends of RunNat,
I bring greetings to you from Kuala Lumpur in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. After a memorable RunNat launch at SIBKL on the 31st, the RunNat Comm is moving full steam ahead to mobilise our Christian youths to take part in this national prayer run. Our country really needs the prayers of every believer in this land and we feel strongly that our youths have a great capacity to contribute to the direction our country is headed for. We want to involve them in this journey. Many churches across the land have made prayer a priority & we want our youth to be part of that movement.
By now you have hopefully received an email from Sam Ang, Sec Gen from NECF to urge churches in state capitals to open their doors to allow the RunNat Comm to promote the event to their members. Over the coming weeks we will be contacting some of the churches throughout the country to allow us to do just that. We hope that the pastors and other leaders of these churches will give us a platform to do so. Unfortunately we do not have sufficient resources to reach all churches. If you would like us to promote this event in your church please do not hesitate to contact us.
Over the coming weeks we will update you on promotion venues and the number of people who have signed up to run as well as other interesting updates on RunNat.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ
In October 2007, FGA KL organized a prayer run called Run For The Nation that covered 160km of Kuala Lumpur and surrounding areas including PJ and Subang. A total of 105 runners took part in this relay event with each team running 5 km. As we ran past houses, buildings, schools, religious sites, shops, government institutions and people on the streets, we prayed.
We prayed for God’s hands to be upon our city and our nation. We prayed for revival and transformation. Then when the last teams came in we gathered in a hall and prayed corporately.
These individuals were not seasoned long distanced runners. Some did not even run casually before this. They took on the challenge of the event and trained for it. Many will tell you that as they ran and prayed, they experienced a tremendous breakthrough as they prayed through the tiredness in their bodies. Romans 12:1, which says, “offer your bodies as a living sacrifce, holy and acceptable to Him” took on a whole new meaning!
